Testimonials

I am a residential designer/contractor with a focus on remodeling kitchens and baths. Over the past several years I have reached out to Vintage Wood Flooring for hardwood installs, repair work and refinishing. The projects ranged in size from refinishing nearly 2000 sf of hardwood as part of a entire home remodel to refinishing and matching stain for two treads in a foyer.

A few noteworthy characteristics of the company are their commitment to do a professional job, working to satisfy the standards of both myself and my clients. Being professional in remodel work means that care and respect for the home and homeowners are part of the mix from the initial consultations, during the project and for any follow up care. Their ability to keep a schedule, which is a major player in remodel work, is another characteristic the keeps them on my list of go to sub contractors.

If you are considering hardwood flooring install or refinishing, I’d encourage you to check out Craig Miller from Vintage Wood Flooring as a partner in your project.

When every other refinishing company told me that my soft pine floors were too ‘splintered and soft’ to refinish nicely, I was really unhappy. My 5 kids love to run around and had to wear socks to keep the splinters away.

Enter Vintage Wood Flooring! Craig was amazing. He knew my floors like he had installed them 100 years ago. They helped us find just the right stain and the place was spotless and incredible when we returned. I expected dust everywhere and a full-day of cleanup. We moved right everything in that day!

I am thankful DAILY that I chose VWF. Upstanding, honest, more than what we asked for. And yes, my kids LOVE them too!

We couldn’t be more pleased with the job that Craig Miller (Vintage Wood Flooring, LLC) did on the floors of our 1882 farmhouse last month. Our original plan was to cover the existing pine floor with walnut flooring. The old floor was full of nails and had been patched several times over the years. Craig told us that he could sand and finish the existing floor wood, and that his equipment would create very little dust. He suggested that the nails could be countersunk and the plywood patches could be replaced with new pine wood floor boards that he could stain to match the old floor boards. Vintage took three days to complete the living room and hallway floors of our first floor. When we saw the results of their work we thought at first that Craig had replaced the entire floor with new wood. Actually, the finished floor was the original heart pine wood that now looked beautiful even before the finish was applied, just as Craig had predicted.

We are so glad that Craig explained to us that Vintage could refinish the existing old floor boards rather than to install a cover floor. The result of the refinishing is a lovely old wood floor that is full of character and history, and reflects a warm golden glow.

We would recommend Vintage Wood Flooring LLC to anyone who is planning to have their old wood floors. They do a great job with almost no dust, great clean up, and they really charge great rates.
